Board and Train FAQs
MLK9 Albuquerque offers three, four, and six-week adult Board and Train programs. Options range from foundational on-leash obedience to advanced on-leash and off-leash training.
Adult Board and Train programs are available for dogs six months and older. Program suitability also depends on your dog’s health, temperament, behavior, and previous training.
Training may cover Here, Sit, Place, Walk, Scale, Kennel, and Down. Programs also address general manners, impulse control, environmental exposure, and responses around distractions.
The level of off-leash training depends on the program selected. Longer programs provide additional time to develop advanced obedience, recall, and reliability around distractions.
Selected Albuquerque Board and Train programs include an E-Collar Technologies remote training collar. Your trainer will explain the equipment included with your chosen program.
Our Albuquerque team will review your dog’s age, behavior, training history, and your goals. Based on the evaluation, we will recommend the appropriate program length and training level.
Behavior Modification FAQs
Behavior Modification is intended for dogs displaying aggression toward people or dogs, reactivity, unsafe behavior, serious control problems, or other significant behavioral concerns.
Yes. An evaluation allows the trainer to review your dog’s history, triggers, previous incidents, current management, and training needs before recommending a program.
Training may include obedience, general manners, on-leash control, environmental exposure, appropriate equipment, behavior management, and guidance for safer handling.
No. Complete behavior change cannot be guaranteed. Results depend on the dog, behavior history, severity, environment, training plan, and owner follow-through.
Dogs with aggression concerns generally leave with on-leash obedience and may require continued leash control. Your trainer will explain what is safe and realistic for your dog.
Owners receive guidance on commands, communication, equipment, safety practices, and continued management. Consistent follow-through at home is essential for maintaining progress.
